US-Russia ‘clarity’ on Syria

Nearly 10 hours of talks on the Syrian conflict between the US and Russia ended in Geneva on Friday without any breakthrough. However, US Secretary of State John Kerry emphasized that the talks had resulted in a consensus over a number of issues.

Tension flares up on Korean Peninsula

Last week, North Korea test fired a submarine-launched ballistic missile off its east coast. The missile launch was in apparent protest against an ongoing joint military drill between South Korea and the US.

Burkini ban revoked in France

Debates continue in France and elsewhere over a controversial decision by authorities to ban an Islamic swimming outfit known as the burkini. The French Council of State, the country's highest administrative
authority, on Friday overturned the ban on the burkinis.
