Inter Milan have been held to a 1-all draw by Palermo at the San Siro, still failing to post their first win in Seire A.

After last week’s shock 2-nil defeat at Kievo, Inter badly needed a morale-boosting victory to make amends in their first game of the campaign. The hosts were the better side in the first half but the players really didn’t make anything happen.

It turned out to be another difficult game for Inter as Andrea Rispoli put Palermo ahead 3 minutes after the break with the visitors' first shot on goal.

Inter’s hunting for an equalizer finally paid off when Mauro Icardi found himself alone inside the box to head home a cross from Antonio Candreva. The result remained unchanged for Inter Milan at a 1-all tie.

Elsewhere in the Serie A, Genoa fought back from a goal down to beat Crotone 3-1. Sampdoria edged past Atalanta 2-1. Udinese earned a 2-nil victory over a 10-man Empoli at home. Caliari came back from two goals down to hold Roma at a 2-all draw.

Fiorentina overcame Kievo Verona 1-nil with a goal from Colombia midfielder Carlos Sanchez. Sassuolo defeated promoted Pescara 2-1 and Torino claimed an emphatic 5-1 win over Bolonia.
