Clinton thinks laws don’t apply to her: Analyst

US Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton thinks she is above the law and can get away with any crime she commits, American political analyst Wayne Madsen says, citing the former secretary of state’s email scandal as an example.

Clinton has been mentioned as an “insider threat” in a US Army training presentation, according to a report.

The Army has confirmed that the PowerPoint presentation includes a slide titled “Who is the threat? Insiders” which features photos of Clinton, former NSA contractor and famous whistleblower Edward Snowden, Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis and Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan.

Retired General David Petraeus, who faced minor charges for sharing classified information with his biographer and mistress, is also pictured next to the former secretary of state.

Madsen, an author and investigative journalist based in Washington, said Clinton and Petraeus’ mishandling of classified data shows how frequent these breaches are happening among American officials.

“Her husband (former US President Bill Clinton)’s national security adviser Sandy Berger, after he left office, was caught stealing classified documents from the National Archives in Washington,” the analyst told Press TV on Sunday.

In April 2005, Berger admitted that he had removed and retained classified material from the National Archives in Washington without authorization.

He was fined $50,000 and sentenced to serve two years of probation and 100 hours of community service. His security clearance was also taken away for 3 years.

He was later accused of more serious security breaches but was never faced additional charges.

“So, with the Clintons it seems like the law does not apply to them,” Madsen continued. “Berger got away with it, Hillary Clinton got away with it and we can only guess what other sensitive secrets have been trafficked by Bill Clinton.”

Clinton has come under fire for using a private email server at her home in New York to exchange thousands of work-related emails, many of which were classified, during her tenure as secretary of state between 2009 and 2013.

The FBI launched an investigation into the case and decided that although what Clinton did was "extremely careless," she should not face any criminal charges.

“They don’t think that the law that applies to everyone else applies to them,” Madsen said.

“The middle name of Hillary and Bill Clinton should be ‘hypocrites’ because that is what both of them are,” he concluded.
