Chefs and food lovers in Italy are pushing a food campaign to support the quake-hit city of Amatrice.

A few days after the Italian city of Amatrice was hit by an earthquake, fans of the city’s famous pasta dish are raising money for the victims. The campaign started when food blogger Paolo Campana called for a 2-euro donation to the city for each dish of spaghetti.

The initiative was picked up by several celebrity chefs as well as hundreds of eateries around the world who supported the cause by putting the rustic dish on their menus. Amatrice was planning on holding a festival in honour of the pasta dish before the quake struck.
