Germany gears up for arrival of 300,000 refugees

  • Saudi warplanes target a minibus full of passengers in Yemen’s southwestern city of Ta’izz, killing at least 10 people.
     
  • The Syrian army retakes full control of the town of Darayya near Damascus after the evacuation of foreign-backed militants and civilians is completed. Our correspondent reports.
     
  • At least one Turkish soldier is killed and several others wounded in a rocket attack on Turkish tanks in northern Syria. The attack is blamed on Kurdish militants.
     
  • Berlin says up to 300,000 refugees are expected to arrive in Germany amid deep divisions in the country over the issue.
     
  • Leaders of Colombia’s FARC rebels will convene one final time in mid-September to ratify the historic peace agreement signed with the government this week.
