Central Asian history in Kyrgyzstan 1st sand sculpture festival

A sculptor work on a piece during first Kyrgyzstan’s sand sculpture festival held in the capital city Bishkek.

These days Kyrgyzstan’s capital is hosting the country’s first sand sculpture festival. A number of sculptors from across Central Asia have taken part in the event to introduce the region’s rich history.

260 kilometers from the capital city Bishkek, is a popular tourist destination where more than 50 artists have gathered to show their skills with sand.

Glue is usually used as a modern method in making sand buildings. But artists at this festival have been faithful to the way of their ancestors.

They’ve made their creations using only water. Visitors can enjoy beautiful works inspired by local folklore. Central Asian countries such as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan share a lot in terms of their history and culture.
