Russia's Paralympians have reacted to the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s decision to ban them from the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro with disbelief and despair.

The country is banned from the Paralympic Games as punishment for an alleged state-backed doping program, after losing an appeal at the sport's highest court.

At least 250 Russian athletes are set to miss the upcoming event which will be held from September the 7th to the 18th. Russia ended the Rio Olympics in fourth place in the medal table after its athletes won 56 medals, including 19 gold.
