Portugal’s FC Porto have cruised into the group stage of the UEFA Champions league after thrashing 9-men Roma 3-nil in the second leg of the qualification round of the tournament.

After drawing 1-1 in the first leg of the playoff tie, the Portuguese entered the match with full force on Tuesday and only needed 8 minutes to open the scoring at the Stadio Olimpico through Felipe’s beautiful header.

The Italians, who needed just one goal to level the tie overall, gave themselves a mountain to climb as De Rossi was shown a red card for a high challenge that caught Maxi Pereira on the shin.

Things then got even worse for Roma as they were reduced to 9 men when substitute Emerson was dismissed 5 minutes after restart.

Porto took advantage of the situation and added another 2 more goals to the score-sheet through Miguel Layun and Jesus Corona in the 73rd and 75th minute respectively to complete the 4-1 aggregate win!
