Brazil name squad for world cup qualifiers
7 players who won the 2016 Olympics have been included in the Brazil squad on Monday for the 2018 World Cup Qualifying matches against Ecuador and Colombia.
Goalkeeper Weverton, defenders Marquinhos and Rodrigo Caio, midfielder Renato Augusto and strikers Neymar, Gabriel Barbosa and Gabriel Jesus all played in the final at the Maracana stadium on Saturday to give the hosts their first Olympic gold in men's football after beating Germany on penalty kicks. Brazil will play Ecuador in Quito on September 1st and 5 days later they are set to host Colombia in Manaus. Team Brazil have 9 points and are lying in 6th place in their qualifying group. The first 4 qualify for the 2018 World Cup, with the 5th facing a playoff against Oceania's representative.
