The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement calls for a political, economic, academic and cultural boycott of Israel until it ends the occupation.

Israel's interior minister, Aryeh Deri, and the public security minister, Gilad Erdan, announced the move on Sunday. The task force will attempt to locate hundreds of activists already in Israel and deny entry to others trying get in.

Both guests had opposing views on what the BDS movement represented with Professor Geoffry Alderman describing as 'Blackmail, Distortion and Slander". Whilst Sai Englert said it was an important act of non-violence resistance against Israel that continually violates international law.

Since the Israeli navy intercepted the Mavi Marmara flotilla in 2010, killing nine people, the so-called de-legitimization department of the Israeli military intelligence research division has routinely monitored the activities of groups abroad. The taskforce attempts to locate hundreds of activists already in Israel and deny entry to others trying get in.

Israel has a long history of denying entry to those it says are damaging to its interests, but the latest proposal marks a new escalation against the BDS movement and activists.
