Iran v-ball team overpowers Qatari side 3-1 in friendly

The Iranian men's national B volleyball team

The Iranian men's national B volleyball team has achieved a deserved victory against the professional Al Arabi Volleyball team, which competes in the Qatari Volleyball League, in a friendly encounter.

On Tuesday, the Qatari players asserted their dominance on the court in the opening set of the match in the Qatari capital city of Doha, and surged ahead in the wake of the Iranian team’s errors. Al Arabi players could grab the set by 30 points to 28 at last.

The Iranian sportsmen closed the second set at 25-14. They maintained lead in the third set, and notched up point after another. The Iranians kept scoring and went into the final set 25-19.

After the interval, Al Arabi players tried to gain control of the final set and recover from the two bitter losses sustained earlier in the game. However, their efforts just fell short and the Iranian team won the decider 25-20.

The Iranian men's national B volleyball team is preparing for the 2016 Asian Men's Cup Volleyball Championship.

The continental sporting event will be held in Nakhon Pathom city, central Thailand, between September 22 and 28.

Iran B volleyball team has been drawn with Australia, Chine Taipei and Japan in Pool B. China, China, Qatar, South Korea and Thailand are drawn in Pool A.
