'This guy’s shame has no limits,’ Biden trashes Trump

US Vice President Joe Biden has trashed Donald Trump as unqualified for the White House, saying the Republican presidential nominee’s “shame has no limits.”

Speaking in his first campaign appearance with Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton at a rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on Monday, Biden said Trump would have loved former Soviet Union dictator Joseph Stalin, whose tyrannical regime is blamed for millions of deaths. 

“This guy’s shame has no limits,” Biden said. “He’s gone so far as to ask [Vladimir] Putin and Russia to conduct cyberattacks against the United States of America. Even if he’s joking, which he’s not, even if he’s joking what an outrageous thing to say.”  

“Look folks, these are not isolated examples,” Biden continued. “He’s even showered praise on Saddam Hussein, one of the vilest dictators of the 20th century, a man who repeatedly backed terror attacks against Israel because he was supposedly the reason he admires him — he was a killer of terrorists, that’s why he liked Saddam. He would’ve loved Stalin. He would’ve loved Stalin.”

Trump calls for 'extreme vetting' of immigrants

Trump has been under criticism over his inflammatory remarks and policy proposals such as temporarily banning Muslims from entering the country and building a wall along the US-Mexican border.

In a foreign policy speech in the swing state of Ohio on Monday, Trump continued his anti-Muslim rhetoric.  "We will defeat radical Islamic terrorism [sic] just as we have defeated every threat we faced at every age.”

He once again called for a temporary ban on Muslims immigrating to the United States, adding that he would suspend immigration from "the most dangerous and volatile regions of the world" that export terrorism.

"We should only admit into this country those who share our values and respect our people," he stated.

"In the Cold War, we had an ideological screening test. The time is overdue to develop a new screening test for the threats we face today. I call it extreme vetting,” he continued.

The business tycoon also vowed to destroy Daesh (ISIL) terrorists but accused President Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton of paving the way for the terrorists to grow.

"The Obama-Clinton foreign policy unleashed ISIS [Daesh], de-stabilized the Middle East," he said.

'Trump rhetoric imperils the lives of US troops'

Responding to Trump's statement that Obama and Clinton created the terrorist group, Biden said his accusations have imperiled the lives of US troops deployed to the Middle East region.

"If my son were still in Iraq and I say to all those who are there, the threat to their life has gone up a couple of clicks," said Biden, who once was tipped to be Clinton’s primary rival.

Biden, however, said repeatedly he was not interested in running for the White House, citing the death of his son Beau last year as the main reason. Beau served in Iraq from 2008 to 2009.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Biden on Monday said, "No major party nominee in the history of the United States of America has known less or been less prepared to deal with our national security than Donald Trump.”

Trump is in danger of losing his grip on the Republican Party, with fears growing that the New York businessman is heading for a “landslide defeat” to his rival Clinton in the November presidential election.
