Saeed Abdevali has grabbed the bronze medal of the Greco Roman wrestling’s 75kg category to give the Iranians their 3rd medal at the games.

Abdevali lost to a rival from Denmark in the first round after a 1-1 draw. However, when the Danish reached the final, the Iranian was given a chance to fight for the bronze medal.

He then beat a Serbian before claiming the bronze by defeating Hungary’s Peter Bacsi 3-1. Russia’s Roman Vlasov won the gold medal of the 75kg category, defeating Denmark’s Mark Madsen.

The other bronze medalist in the same class was South Korea’s Kim Hyeon-woo. Meanwhile, another hopeful Iranian and London 2012 gold medalist Hamid Sourian was unable to win a medal with two defeats in the 59kg category.
