Mugabe rule threatened by economic woes

Zimbabwe is experiencing tough days. People are protesting against the government. They are suffering from dire economic conditions which have been plaguing the country for some time. Many are protesting against the 92-year-old president, Robert Mugabe. They claim that he has failed to properly address issues such as economic decline and mass unemployment and emigration.

But are the country's problems purely a fault of the government? Or are much of the country's economic decline due to western sanctions, like from the US, which have withheld the government from being able to get any international loans.
