Michael Phelps claims 21st Olympic gold medal

American Michael Phelps has taken his remarkable record to 21 gold medals, after claiming the men's 4 by 200 meters Olympic freestyle relay claimed on Tuesday.

The most successful Olympian of all time swam the final leg and managed to finish with a lead of 1 point 76 seconds over Japan and 2 point 88 seconds over team Britain.

With the win, Phelps improved his career tally to a total of 25 medals which also include 2 silver and two bronze medals. Earlier on Tuesday, he clinched his 20th gold medal with a triumph in the 200-meters butterfly.
