Australia has introduced a ‘quiet hour’ for a supermarket in a bid to help those who can feel stressed by noise.

A disability service provider in Adelaide has developed the program. It aims to target people who suffer from sensory overload. This is the first quiet hour shopping experience in Australia. During the quiet hour, all of the things that might perhaps overload the senses are turned off completely. The lights will be dimmed and music and pager messages switched off.
