This file photo taken on September 26, 2015 shows Smoke billows from buildings following reported air-strikes by the Saudi-led coalition on arms warehouses at al-Dailami air base, controlled by Yemeni Iran-backed Shiite Huthi rebels and their allies, on September 26, 2015, north of the capital Sana'a.

Here is a round-up of global news developments:

  • Saudi Arabia and its allies have defended several cases of deadly airstrikes they conducted on Yemen. A probe by the Saudi-led forces claims armed militiamen were present in the markets, clinics, and a wedding ceremony targeted by the air attacks. Meanwhile, a UN report suggests Saudi Arabia has numerously violated international humanitarian law.
  • Fresh Saudi airstrikes in Yemen’s Nihm district in the province of Sana’a have destroyed a house, killing all the people living in the building. Two women were among the victims. In a separate raid in Sa’ada, several people were killed as Saudi warplanes hit a car in Baqim district.
  • The Australian government has suspended its aid to the Palestinian territories through the international charity organization, World Vision. The decision came after Israel charged Gaza director of World Vision, Mohammad al-Halabi, for allegedly diverting the funds to Palestinian resistance movement Hamas. Halabi’s family has denied the charges.
  • US President Barack Obama says he cannot trust Russia for military cooperation to end the war in Syria. Obama said Moscow will show itself as an irresponsible actor in the world if the ceasefire does not work out in Syria. Russia has so far conducted airstrikes against foreign-backed militants in the war-torn country.
  • Turkey’s US-based opposition figure Fethullah Gulen has reacted angrily to an arrest warrant issued by a Turkish court against him. Gulen has accused the Turkish judiciary of not being independent. He also called the warrant yet another example of President Erdogan’s drive for authoritarianism.
  • The Green Party of the United States has criticized the country’s two-party system and called it unfair. The party called the Democratic nomination process rigged and noted that it’s one of the main reasons people across the US are joining the Green Party.
  • A group of US military veterans has urged Republican Congressmen to oppose the party’s presidential nominee Donald Trump. The veterans accused Trump of having divisive policies and slammed his bigotry and unabashed incitement to violence against minorities including Muslims.
  • Brazilian police have rallied in the capital Brasilia to protest against the governor of the city. The demonstrators say the city governor did not fulfill an election promise of pay raise for the force. Tensions are high as corruption allegations against authorities have led the country into a political turmoil.
