Intense focus on Turkey's military, NATO membership

Two weeks after the coup attempt in Turkey, the country’s Supreme Military Council has announced a major shake-up in the armed forces. The crackdown following the botched coup has also affected the country’s relations with its Western allies, including the United States. Ankara accuses Washington of backing the coup plotters.
