The elephant demonstrated his ability to keep a cool head under pressure when he escaped being made into a meal by 14 female lion.

If you see a young elephant surrounded by 14 hungry lions, you’d probably think the game’s over for the animal. But the footage you’re about to see shows a whole different story.

Visitors at the South Luangwa National Park in Zambia filmed a baby elephant battling for survival after being attacked by a group of female lions.

During the extraordinary combat, the animal employed various tactics to fend off the relentless cats, such as charging at them and wading through the water.

At one stage, the big mammal had two lionesses on his back and another clawing at his hind legs.

It finally ended when the elephant got fed up and started charging the lionesses, causing them to flee.
