Chelsea have defeated their English Premier League rivals Liverpool 1-0 in the International Champions Cup.

Both sides fielded a number of new signings, but it was two of the Blues experienced players who combined to make the breakthrough. Only ten minutes into the game, Gary Cahill headed home Cesc Fabregas' corner to make it 1-0.

Neither team managed to capitalize on their scoring opportunities till the final whistle and the first-half goal was enough to see Chelsea beat Liverpool 1-0 despite having Fabregas sent off with 20 minutes remaining for a harsh tackle on Ragnar Klavan.
