Every year in July, a celebration is held for honoring the US novelist, Ernest Hemingway's birthday. The ceremony is an Ernest Hemingway look-alike competition.

Over 135 white-bearded men competed in the annual event this year, but only one could be the winner.

And for the first time in its 36-year history, a white-bearded North Carolina man who is named Hemingway, has won the contest in Florida.

The winner, Dave Hemingway, says he is not related to the late author. The 65-year-old Hemingway won the contest in his seventh attempt.

He wore a wool, cream-colored sweater similar to what the late author favored.
