Mo Farah of Britain has completed his preparations for the Rio Olympics by claiming a dominant 5,000 meters victory at the London Diamond League meeting.
Farah set off solo on Saturday, and an absence of genuine competition forced him to run the second half of the race completely alone.
He increased his pace in the final mile before finishing in a time of 12 minutes 59.29 seconds, which is the fastest time in the world this year.
Fellow Brit Andrew Butchart crossed the line in 2nd, more than 15 seconds off the pace, with America’s Bernard Lagat back in 3rd.
It was Farah’s final outing before he defends his Olympic 10,000 and 5,000 meters titles at the Rio Games.
