Spain’s Football Federation has named Julen Lopetegui as the new manager of the country’s national team.

The former Porto boss replaces World Cup and European championship winning head coach Vicente del Bosque who stood down after the Euro 2016 elimination by Italy.

Lopetegui has already coached Spain’s national under-19, under-20 and under-21 sides.

The 49-year-old has been a free agent since being dismissed by Porto in January.
