'US more interested in targeting Muslims than white supremacists'

“Daesh may or may not be here, but according to many government and NGO reports, one is more likely to be killed by the police than a terrorist,” American political analyst Myles Hoenig says.

There are hundreds of hate groups in the United States, mostly white, Christian anti-government in its makeup, but the US establishment is more interested in targeting Muslims, an American political analyst and activist says.

Myles Hoenig, a Green Party candidate for Congress, made the remarks in a phone interview with Press TV on Tuesday, after Republican Senator Joni Ernst said the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group has a presence in all 50 American states.

“Senator Ernst, quoting FBI Director Comey said that Daesh is in all 50 states. Maybe that’s true. They’re in all stages of ‘radicalizing’. What that also implies is that there are impressionable Muslims in the US that could easily fall prey to FBI indoctrination and be set up to commit an act of terrorism,” said Hoenig.

“The FBI has a sordid history of infiltrating groups or friending individuals and encourage and supply them with the type of weapons for mass murder or destruction and then prosecute them before they finalize the plan designed by the FBI themselves. Glen Greenwald pointed this out in The Intercept, as well as RT commenting on a Human Rights Watch report – all saying the same thing,” he explained.

“The US establishment is always looking for an enemy in order to divert attention from real problems internally. Just in the 20th century in order to preserve the absolute worst of capitalist exploitation of workers, union organizers were tainted with the brush of Communism and were brutally suppressed at the best of the government’s ability, but eventually won out and gained rights that we all take for granted today,” the analyst said.

“During the 50’s again Communism was our perceived enemy and lives and careers were lost for being suspected. Throughout American history the black American and immigrant had been denigrated and attacked for stealing white (American) jobs. Today, we have law enforcement, from the FBI to local city sheriffs calling Black Lives Matter representatives terrorists,” he stated.

“Daesh may or may not be here, but according to many government and NGO reports, one is more likely to be killed by the police than a terrorist,” the activist said. “The CATO Institute is a far right wing ‘think tank’ which attributes, in part, the militarization of our local police forces as one cause for the 8:1 ration of police to terrorist killing. But even in these numbers, [Takfiri] terrorists are negligible.”

“According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, there are 892 hate groups in America, mostly white, Christian anti-government in its makeup. There’s been a 42% increase in anti-Muslim hate groups since 2014, 190 active KKK groups, and a 14% growth in hate groups since 2014,” he noted.

“It’s easy for Senator Ernst to sound the alarm regarding [Takfiri] terrorism in all 50 states. For many reasons, Muslims are an easy target to defame and demonize. The Republican Party itself ought to be branded a hate group itself for promoting vicious attacks on all types of Americans who do what they are constitutionally protected in doing,” Hoenig concluded.
