Portugal have celebrated and showed off their Euro 2016 trophy to fans in Lisbon, a day after winning the competition.

Captain Cristiano Ronaldo and his team-mates were greeted with cheers by tens of thousands of people on arrival in their home town following their dramatic 1-0 victory over the hosts at the Stade de France in the final.

The squad traveled in an open-topped, double-decker bus while they celebrated their country's first ever victory in a major football tournament.

Fernando Santos’ men drew all three of their group games to scrape through to the knockout stages before beating Croatia in extra-time, Poland on penalties and finally Wales 2-0 in the semi-finals.
