Defending Champion Novak Djokovic has been knocked of the Wimbledon Championship, after suffering a shocking 3-sets-to-1 loss at the hands of America’s Sam Querrey at the all England club.

Querrey showed an excellent performance and produced the biggest upset of the competition so far. The match on ‘Court One’ had been paused on Friday due to heavy rain with the American leading 2 sets to Love.

But, when the match resumed on Saturday, the World No.1 was quick to make his mark, breaking Querrey twice to open-up a 4-love lead in the 3rd, and went-on to win the set 6-3.

However, further rain in the 4th set ruined the Rhythm of Both Players and it was Querrey who held his Nerve to win the set 7-5 and hand Djokovic his 1st defeat at a Grand Slam since last year’s French Open final.

The American will next face Frenchman Nicolas Mahut.
