Italy secures spot in quarter finals of Euro 2016 by defeating Spain 2-0

Following Euro 2016 championship, Italy have booked their spot in the quarter finals of the tournament by defeating holders Spain 2-nil at the Stade de France.

It took the Italians 33 minutes to open the scoring on Monday through Jorjo Kellini who smashed home from close range, making it 1-nil.

Gratsiano Pelle then scored a late goal to double Italy’s advantage and send his side into the last 8.

The holders last time defeated Italy at Euro 2008, as well as thrashing them 4-nil in the 20-12 final. But this time they had no answer to Antonio Conte's men, who recorded a deserved victory.

The Italians will face Germany for a place in the semifinals.
