Prototype 'Ocean Cleanup' system hits the water

The floating barrier may collect some trash in the North Sea, that's not really the name of the game

The Netherlands is attempting to tackle ocean pollution as environmentalists test a huge floating barrier to help collect plastic waste.

Ocean Cleanup has developed a lengthy barrier prototype to clean up oceans that are polluted with plastic and other waste. Previous ideas that utilized nets and boats were practically impossible to help clean the oceans due to high expenses and inadequacy. But this innovation stands out for its convenience. Before being of any practical use, the barrier has to pass a strength test.

The Ocean Cleanup Project has successfully deployed its first prototype off the coast of the Netherlands
