The Iranian deaf men's national soccer team has conceded defeat to England, getting eliminated from the 3rd edition of the World Deaf Football Championships in Italy.

On Saturday, the Iranian hearing-impaired sportsmen lost to the English opponents 1-3 in a relatively competitive match played in the southern town of Eboli.

The Persians had earned a 2-2 draw against Ukraine the previous day.

Earlier, Egypt pocketed the entire three points of the match against Iran, as the Islamic Republic’s squad failed to show up for the fixture due to visa issuance delays.

The 3rd edition of the World Deaf Football Championships opened on June 19 and will conclude on July 2.

The tournament has brought together teams from sixteen countries, including Egypt, England, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Italy and Ukraine.
