Los Angeles skyscraper gets a slide on the outside

Those who want a thrill ride will be able to sit down and slide for 14 meters to an outdoor platform at the 69th floor.

A glass slide that is hanging off the exterior of a 73-floor Los Angeles skyscraper is preparing to offer a thrill ride like no other.

Nearly 300 meters above the streets of downtown Los Angeles, the glass slide has clung to the outside of the city’s tallest building. Those who want a thrill ride will be able to sit down and slide for 14 meters to an outdoor platform at the 69th floor.

The 73-floor tower in Los Angeles ranks as the tallest building in the United States west of the Mississippi River.

The building’s owner says the glass on the fully enclosed slide is only 3.2 centimeters thick, but can withstand hurricane-force winds and even a powerful earthquake.
