Violence at the Euro Cup in France has shocked the world, disproving the claim that hooliganism has been brought under control. The last time such widespread fighting and xenophobia occurred at an international tournament, the host country was also France, and that's prompted many to criticize the heavy-handed tactics of the French police to end the violence between fans of teams participating in the tournament.
