Egypt is set to amend its controversial protest law that has resulted in the detention of tens of thousands of protesters from all streams.

Egypt is set to amend its controversial protest law that has resulted in the detention of tens of thousands of protesters from all streams. The amendments under discussion could in theory decrease the jail terms or even scrap prison penalties imposed on peaceful protesters in a retroactive manner.
