US jobs report weakens dollar, hits Wall Street

The Syrian army has advanced into Raqqah province following a fierce battle against Daesh. Syrian troops were backed by Russian airstrikes in the neighboring Hama province. The army has been advancing rapidly on the terrorists' stronghold of Raqqah. The city fell to Daesh in August 2014.
Iraqi forces evacuate civilians from around the Daesh-held city of Fallujah as they continue their push to liberate the city. Iraqi commanders say the military advance is being slowed down by the large number of civilians held hostage by the Takfiri terrorists inside the city.
The United States threatens to take action against China, if it goes ahead with the construction of a building on one of the South China Sea islets. US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter has warned that the construction would fuel tensions and isolate China.
The Venezuelan opposition says dialogue with the government will not be possible until a date is set for a recall referendum against President Nicolas Maduro. The country's economy is suffering from the fall in oil prices. Maduro says his government is the victim of a US-led economic war.
A new jobs report in the United States has caused Wall Street stocks and the dollar to fall, raising worries about a weak international growth. According to the Labor Department, employers added only 38,000 jobs in May. That's the weakest performance in nearly 6 years.
The River Seine in Paris has reached its highest level in more than 30 years. The torrential rains closed the roads and several railway stations in the city. The Louvre and Orsay museums remain closed.The staff have moved artworks to safety as flood levels climbed above six meters.

Boxing legend, Muhammad Ali, has died at the age of 74 in the US state of Arizona. The former heavyweight world champion was being treated for respiratory trouble at a hospital in the city of Phoenix. His respiratory trouble had been complicated by Parkinson’s disease diagnosed in the 1980s.
