Berlin, Ankara at odds over Germany’s Armenia genocide resolution

Tensions are running high between Berlin and Ankara following a vote by the German Parliament to recognize Turkey’s World War I massacre of Armenians as genocide.

Tensions are running high between Berlin and Ankara following a vote by the German Parliament to recognize Turkey’s World War I massacre of Armenians as genocide. While Germany calls the move democratic, Ankara says the 1.5 million death toll, which is claimed by Armenians, has been inflated.
