Press TV has interviewed Shabbir Hassanally, an activist and political commentator in London, about official Palestinian figures showing almost 2,100 Palestinian minors have lost their lives and many more sustained injuries at the hands of Israeli military forces since 2000.

A rough transcription of the interview appears below.

Press TV: These are seriously alarming numbers released by the Palestinian Ministry of Media regarding the number of Palestinian children killed by the Israeli regime since the start of the year 2000.

Hassanally: Yes, unfortunately these figures are not new. For the past few years we have had similar sort of figures about the number of Palestinian minors murdered by the Zionists, about how many are incarcerated without any validity and in some cases contrary to international law. This is not something new.

What is distressing is that every year, year-on-year we have this information coming out and the so-called powers in the world, people like America, Britain and others just sit down and have their fingers firmly in their ears not really interested in doing anything about it, continuing to give military aid and financial aid and political aid to the terrorist regime occupying Palestine. This is where the problem is.

It is so well and good, you have reports from many, many groups like you have got the Palestinian Ministry of Media, you have got UNICEF, you have got B'Tselem, you have got many, many groups, Amnesty, Human Rights Watch, so on, many groups come along and speak the truth about what is happening in Palestine to the Palestinians at the hands of the Zionist occupiers but no one seems to do anything about it. It is so well and good to have a library full of source materials, saying that in this year so many Palestinians were killed, in this year so many Palestinians were killed and it is not like Obama and the American administration, Cameron, all of these people, they do not know that this is the case.

What is tragic and what really needs to be discussed and understood is why these people do nothing, not even to mention this is being made by the mainstream media at all because people are “not interested” anymore and this is the tragedy. It has become something which people have stopped caring about in the mainstream and this is because of the control that the Zionist lobby has over this part of the world, over a lot of the world. This is where the real tragedy is.

None of these children could be killed, none of these children could be incarcerated if it is not through the support of the Zionist lobby silencing any sort of dissension, any sort of condemnation of the Israelis. I mean now in the UK of course you heard that to even criticize the Zionist entity is now considered “anti-Semitic” which is quite farcical given that the majority of the occupiers have no Semitic origin at all. They are all Eastern European.

Press TV: What must come about to change this status quo?

Hassanally: I think the population of the world need to really get up and realize that the Palestinians and all the other oppressed people are part of them. We are all the same. Today it is the Palestinians, tomorrow it will be who? It will be anyone and the people need to come together but of course the first step in people rising up is they need to be given this information so all of the activists and all of the freedom lovers need to get online, need to go down to their local community centers, to their local churches and everywhere and tell people that look, this is what happening, this is happening in the name of humanity. The Zionists are doing this, they are killing children, children, leave aside the so many innocent adults that they are killing but they are killing so many children, they are incarcerating so many children.

We have to do something. We have to say something and we have to hold these politicians who are in the pay of the Zionist lobby, we have to hold these people to account and tell them that they will be taken to The Hague, they will be taken to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for crimes that they are doing because these are crimes. This is tacit approval by the Cameron regime, by Obama’s regime of what the Zionists are doing. If they did not approve of it, it is very simple, switch off the money tap.

Yes, of course we know the Israelis have got this idea that if anyone threatens them like if the West threatens them, they will use something called the “Samson Option” where they will nuke everyone.  Okay fine, let them try. What will they do? The world needs to stand up and realize that this tiny bunch of terrorists cannot govern the entire world, cannot hold the entire world to ransom.

America says it does not negotiate with terrorists, Britain says it does not negotiate with terrorists. Well quite frankly these governments are both in bed with the biggest terrorists and as a result they formed the terrorist regime that is occupying the entire world.
