France edged Cameroon 3-2 in friendly soccer

France v.s. Cameroon.

Over to football as France have edged Cameroon 3-2 in a friendly match in Naant as the Euro 20-16 hosts continue their preparations for the tournament.

The hosts needed 20 minutes to open the scoring on Monday through Paris Saint-Germain's Blaze Matuidi but Porto striker Vincent Aboubakar helped Cameroon draw level two minutes later.

Olivier Girou fired the home side into the lead once more just before the break. With only 2 minutes remaining, the visitors restored parity again.

However, an injury-time free-kick from Dimitri Payeh was enough to give the hosts a 3-2 win. France will open their Euro campaign against Romania on the tenth of June.

Elsewhere, Sweden were held to a scoreless draw by Slovenia in their penultimate warm-up match.

Sweden’s record scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovich missed the match due to an injury while manager Erik Hamren opted to field an experimental line-up ahead of their Euro 20-16 opener against the Republic of Ireland in Paris on June the13th.
