Visitors flock to see rare flower bloom in Germany

Flower lovers flocked to the Munich Botanical Garden on Thursday to catch a glimpse of one of the world's largest, smelliest flower, the Titan Arum, in bloom.

It isn't every day that one gets the chance to see a blooming “Titan Arum”, the world’s largest and smelliest flower. But these fans in Germany were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the flower in full bloom.

The rare flower was on display at the Munich Botanical Garden as dozens lined up to watch it bloom. The Titan Arum will only bloom for up to 48 hours, during which time it produces a very smelly odor. The plants can go up for a decade before blossoming again. For now, the garden has extended its opening hours to let as many people see the rare sight while it lasts.
