Defending tennis champion Stan Wawrinka has defeated Japan’s Taro Daniel in three straight sets 7-6, 6-3 6-4, progressing to round three of the French Open 2016.
Wawrinka won the first set 7-6 as he found himself in trouble, having to save two set points in a first set tiebreaker.
He had the upper hand in the second set but was a break down in the third before finishing with a flourish to secure a third round clash against 30th seeded Jeremy Chardy.
