The defending NBA champions the Golden State Warriors are on the brink of elimination after losing game 4 of the Western Conference finals 118-94 to their hosts, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The home team started better and got the lead from the very beginning and never looked back, thanks to a brilliant Russel Westbrook, who had 36 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Tuesday.

Oklahoma led 30-26 at the end of the first quarter and went on to take the second with a massive 42-27 win to lead 72-53 at halftime.

The Warriors did a bit better after the break and won the third quarter 29-22. But, they fell even further behind when they lost the 4th frame 24-12 and surrendered the game with 24 points.

To have any hopes of qualifying, the Warriors now are going to have to win game 5 at home, or else Oklahoma will celebrate the series’ win.
