GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump has released an ad portraying Bill Clinton as a rapist as part of an attack on his wife, Hillary, who is the billionaire’s main opponent in the 2016 US presidential election.

Known and criticized for misogynistic views himself, Trump appears to be resorting to a psychological projection to blame Clinton, who is of course reminiscent of a major sexual scandal in the US history.

Trump released Monday the 15-second horror clip, showing the former president with a big cigar in his mouth.

In the clip, women are heard crying and accusing Bill of sexual harassment while Hillary is heard laughing maniacally.

Titled "Is Hillary really protecting women?", the ad targets her appeal to women and young girls by showing that she is not as supportive of women’s rights as she claims.

Among the women heard in the clip is Juanita Broaddrick, who recently reaffirmed that she was raped by Clinton.

“I was 35 years old when Bill Clinton, Ark. Attorney General raped me and Hillary tried to silence me. I am now 73....it never goes away,” she said in a tweet in January.

According to Trump, it is not only about Bill but Hillary as well, as she “would go after these women and destroy their lives. She was an unbelievably nasty, mean enabler, and what she did to a lot of those women is disgraceful.”

Trump has been under fire himself for remarks considered offensive to women.

A Democratic anti-Trump super PAC, called Priorities USA, highlighted the real estate mogul’s misogyny by releasing an ad titled Speak earlier this month.

The ad consists of a series of Trump’s sexist statements, quoted by women standing against a white background.

Apart from women, the Republican candidate is unpopular with Muslims, African Americans, and Hispanics.
