Netanyahu rejects French initiative for peace conference

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a French initiative for an international conference to try to revive peace talks. Palestinians have, however, welcomed the proposal, saying Tel Aviv’s opposition is part of a bid to buy more time to carry out its illegal plans in the occupied territories.
