Giro d'Italia: Andre Greipel wins stage 5

Germany's Andre Greipel has won the 5th stage of the Giro d'Italia while Dutchman Tom Dumoulin maintained the overall lead.

Wednesday’s 5th stage took the riders to a 233 kilometer route from Praia a Mare to Benevento where Greipel finished first in a time of 5 hours, 40 minutes and 35 seconds to claim his fourth career Giro d'Italia stage victory.

France’s Arnaud Demare and Sonny Colbrelli of Italy ended their day in 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

Dutchman Tom Dumoulin still retained the race leader's pink jersey, 16 seconds clear of Luxembourg’s Bob Jungels who competed the day's stage in fourth place.
