Indonesian catering provides dietary meals for diabetics

Dietary meals are being prepared in the Indonesian healthy catering.

An Indonesian catering company provides its clients with healthy meals according to their clinical conditions.

The move is to reduce the huge number of diabetic people in the country.

Other than chefs, there are also nutritionists who work in the MyMeals Company. The results of their cooperation are special meals made with organic food for people with heart disease, high cholesterol, and hypertension.

But as one-third of their 250 customers are diabetic, they specially focus on the latter. Health experts believe it is the lifestyle of Indonesians which should be blamed for their many health problems.

An average Indonesian usually consumes a lot of oily and sugary food, which causes obesity increasing the risk of diabetes.

Each meal prepared at the company would cost around five dollars. That’s quite a lavish order to make in a country where nearly 40-percent of its people live on one dollar per day.

But changing one’s lifestyle would be cheaper than spending as much as 150 dollars per month to treat the disease.

Diabetes kills more than one million people every year, among which 100-thousand are from Indonesia.
