Young Iranian futsal players win streak at the second edition of Asian University Futsal Championship in Kazakhstan, overcoming the Turkmen side.

On Sunday, the Islamic Azad University outfit, which is representing the Islamic Republic of Iran in the 8-day-long continental sporting event in the Kazakh city of Almaty, vanquished Turkmenistan 6-1 in a one-sided Group B match.

The Iranian team exerted a spell of pressure on Turkmens’ goal from the beginning of the game, as Ali Mahmoudi was on target twice to put the ball at the back of the opponent’s net and score a brace.

Mohammad Zare’, Danial Givili, Ali Ebrahimi and Moslem Olad Qobad added a goal each for the Iranian team against Turkmenistan.

The resounding victory came a day after Iranian futsal players trounced Kyrgyzstan 19-1 in their opening match of the tournament.

The Islamic Azad University futsal team is drawn in Group B with Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, as well as Kazakhstan B.

China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan A and Tajikistan make up Group A.

The second edition of Asian University Futsal Championship started in Almaty on April 21 and will finish on April 28.

Iran hosted the first edition of the event in the capital, Tehran, between June 6 and June 12, 2012, and won the title.
