Luis Suarez was the star of the night at the Camp Nou, as Spanish giants Barcelona demolished Sporting Gijon 6-nil.
The Catalans just couldn’t have asked for a better start on Saturday as they managed to take the lead in the 12th minute through Argentinean ace Lionel Messi who looped a header into the unguarded goal to make it 1-0.
Luis Suarez then made it 2 for the hosts in the 63rd minute to take his goal tally to an incredible 53 goals in all competitions this season.
Barca were awarded a penalty 10 minutes later and Suarez stepped-up and calmly converted the ball into the back of the net to put the home side in the driving seat.
But Luis Enrique’s men didn’t stop there. They won a penalty again in the 77th minute and Suarez completed his hat-trick by smashing the ball into the back of the net to make it 4-0.
The hosts got their 3rd penalty 5 minutes from Time, but this time Brazilian star Neymar stood behind the ball, making it 5-0.
And then Suarez added his 4th in the 88th minute as Barca returned to the top of the La Liga standings, ahead of both Atletico and Real Madrid.
