A new poll shows that Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is in a dominant position across California, leading his rivals in the state by 18 points.

The poll shows that Trump with 41 percent support leads Ted Cruz with 23 percent and John Kasich with 21 percent.

According to the survey conducted by Capitol Weekly/Sextant Strategies, 15 percent of Republicans said they remain undecided.

Sixty-nine percent of those who voted for Cruz said they strongly support him, but 26 percent said they support him in order to prevent Trump from becoming the nominee.

Also, 34 percent of those who support Kasich said their vote was anti-Trump.

Almost half of those surveyed, 47 percent, said they believe Trump will clinch the GOP nomination regardless of their preferred candidate.

Twenty-four percent believed someone not currently running will become the nominee, and only 22 percent said Cruz will be the nominee.

In addition, 48 percent said Trump should be the nominee if he leads the delegate count, while 42 percent said another candidate should be allowed to take the nomination if Trump wins the most delegates before the Republican National Convention, but not a majority.

California will award 172 delegates when it votes on June 7, with the winner of each of the state’s 53 congressional districts receiving three delegates.

California, where the statewide winner receives 13 delegates, is a significant contest for all the candidates since Cruz and Kasich are working to stop Trump from reaching the 1,237 delegates necessary to win the GOP nomination before the convention in July.

The new poll was conducted among 1,165 registered Republicans.

On Sunday, a poll by a CBS News/YouGov showed Trump led Cruz by 18 points, 49 percent to 31 percent. They were followed by Kasich who had 16 percent support.
