Tractor Sazi beat Al Hilal 2-0 in AFC Champions League

Iran's Tractor Sazi have defeats Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal 2-0 in group C of the AFC Champions League on Tuesday.

The Iranian side Tractor Sazi of Tabriz have secured their progress to the round of 16 of the AFC Champions League as group C winners, with a game in hand. That came following a 2-nil victory against 2014 finalists Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the capital city of Qatar.

There were some good scoring chances for both sides inside the opening 45 minutes on Tuesday, but neither managed to make the breakthrough before halftime.

Tractor Sazi however scored the all-important opener in the 66th minute. Al Hilal defenders failed to clear a long throw-in, allowing Mohammad Iranpourian to head the ball into the path of Cameroonian striker Aloys Nong who guided his own header over the line from close range.

With Al Hilal pressing for an equalizer, the Iranian side secured the full 3 points with 9 minutes remaining with their 2nd goal. This time, Nong provided the assist for Farzad Hatami who crashed a powerful strike into the roof of the net.
