The Indian Army’s role in the recent spate of violence in Kashmir is under the spotlight. The army was heavily criticized when the mother of an allegedly assaulted schoolgirl accused security forces of circulating a video statement shot under duress in which she exonerated Indian troops. As Shahana Butt reports, rights groups have accused New Delhi of covering up the truth which led to the deadly violence in the region.
