Arrests made at Pennsylvania protest against Trump
Police in the US State of Pennsylvania arrest several protesters at a Pittsburgh rally against Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.
Hundreds of people staged the protest outside the Pittsburgh Convention Center to vent their anger at the Republican hopeful as Trump was holding a campaign event at the venue.
The protesters faced lines of Trump supporters who were waiting to enter the Convention Center.
The crowd of demonstrators chanted “No Trump, No KKK, No fascist USA” and “Dump Trump.”
Riot police arrived at the scene and briefly used pepper spray on the protesters, making some arrests.
Trump visited Pennsylvania ahead of the Republican primary which is due on April 26.
Trump is currently predicted to be the outright favorite to win the state over his Republican competitors Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Ohio Governor John Kasich.
Counter-protests have become a regular occurrence at Trump rallies, as the controversial billionaire’s campaign has been marked with racial hatred and outlandish policies.
According to a new Associated Press-GfK poll, a majority of Americans have an unfavorable view of the US presidential candidates and believe none represent their opinions.
At least half of Americans say they would be disappointed or even angry if either of the party front-runners - Trump for the Republicans or Hillary Clinton for the Democrats - is nominated for president, the survey shows.
And a quarter said they would be disappointed or angry if both win nominations. Another 25 would feel at best neutral if both are nominated.
Among all registered voters, 63 percent say they will not vote for Trump and 50 percent say the same about Clinton.
