First group of refugees return to Turkey under EU-Ankara deal

More than 200 refugees have been deported to Turkey from the Greek islands of Lesbos and Chios, as part of a controversial agreement between Ankara and the European Union.

More than 200 refugees have been deported to Turkey from the Greek islands of Lesbos and Chios, as part of a controversial agreement between Ankara and the European Union. Besides widespread criticism from human rights organizations about the legality of the deal, opposition in Turkey is also harsh.
